MARCH 24, 2009

Set up was a breeze, unlike last time's bizarro soundboard experiments. White string lights and a giant foamboard LP were hung to place focus on the stage. A women's writing club in the back of the venue asked us to turn down our music, claiming that they meet every Tuesday. That may be true, but they had no muscle to flex. Skip Crackle Pop was officially sanctioned to meet the fourth Tuesday of every month, so ladies, welcome to the gun show.

Once again a dozen people showed up specifically for Skip Crackle Pop, but this time the venue's regular patrons (laptop users & a good-sized knitting group) didn't leave. In fact, the crowd remained relatively quiet when a storyteller was on stage, and a knitter was even spotted singing along to "Man in the Mirror." No message could have been any clearer. Skip Crackle Pop is gonna make that change!

The set list can be found below, and photos from this meeting can be found here.
